This book was born of a journey. Through losses and moves between Kinshasa, Ohio and Virginia, I came to understand that happiness does not come solely from relationships, degrees or outside recognition. It begins within.

I wrote it for you, woman, who sometimes forget how much light you carry. For you, young girl, still searching for your voice. For you, mother, sister, wife, professional — you who give so much and deserve to receive peace.
